Watercolor Abstract Painting Ideas: Simple Shapes, Dots, and Modern Marks
Today I’m sharing a relaxed abstract art session where I build one layered mixed media piece from start to finish. I’m using Kuretake Art Nouveau watercolors for loose washes, then adding graphite pencil, tempera paint sticks, Faber-Castell Black Edition pencils, Neocolor 2 pastels, and acrylic paint pens for bold marks, texture, and contrast. If you love abstract watercolor, mark making, and playful layering, this one is for you.
Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/
(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)
Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
