Vibrant Abstract Sampler with Gouache & Matte Paints | Easy Mixed Media
In this tutorial, I’m sharing how I created a 12-piece mixed media sampler using a vibrant color palette inspired by the Color Cube.
I worked with Shinhan gouache and Blick matte acrylic paints to build bold, painterly layers, then added expressive mark making and stencil details for extra texture and interest.
Whether you're into abstract painting, mixed media art, or just looking for color palette ideas, this video is packed with inspiration and techniques you can try in your own art journal or canvas practice. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike!
Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/
(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)
Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
