Swatching My 60 Masha’s Watercolors | Starting a New Art Journal Series

I’m starting a new art journal series centered around patterns, color, and lots of playful mark making, and before I share the pages I’ve already been creating, I wanted to go back to the beginning and spend some time getting to know my 60 Masha’s watercolors set. In this first video I’m swatching the full palette and exploring all those beautiful colors that will become the foundation for the pages ahead. As this series continues, I’ll be layering the watercolors with materials like Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, Neocolor II pastels, Posca markers, Kuretake gold, and other favorite mark-making supplies, while pulling inspiration from lovely vintage patterns and imagery. I’m excited to let this book grow page by page and see where all of this color, pattern, texture, and experimentation takes us.

Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/

(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)

Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
