Simple Abstract Art Ideas | Start an Abstract Piece Without Overthinking It
Today I’m playing and letting an abstract piece unfold, one layer at a time. In this video, I create a single mixed media abstract using Kuretake Art Nouveau watercolors, Kingart gel sticks, graphite pencil, Neocolor II pastels, and Posca pens.
I’ll show you how I start with loose washes, build texture and contrast, and finish with bold marks and tiny details that bring the whole piece together. If you love experimenting with art supplies and want fresh abstract art ideas you can try on paper, this one’s for you.
Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/
(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)
Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
