ShinHan Gouache Abstracts: Layering, Marks, and Texture
Today I’m sharing a relaxed abstract painting session where I play with bold color, layered marks, and mixed media texture. I’m using ShinHan gouache with a color palette pulled from The Color Cube Volume 4, then building interest with Kingart gel sticks, graphite pencil, Kuretake silver ink in a fine line bottle and Neocolor II pastels. You’ll see how I start with simple shapes, add contrast and pattern, and keep going until the piece feels balanced and alive. If you love abstract art, gouache painting, and easy mark making ideas, this one is for you.
Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/
(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)
Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
