Have you ever wondered how much a painting can change simply by shifting which color takes the lead?
In this class, we’ll explore the power of color dominance through a simple but revealing abstract art challenge. Using a limited color palette, you’ll create two abstract paintings that use the exact same colors—but with a different dominant or starting color in each piece.
This experiment is a wonderful way to discover how color balance, contrast, and composition can completely transform the mood of a painting.
I’ll be working in one of my handmade journals, but you can also follow along using loose watercolor paper or any sketchbook you love.
