In this video, I am going to go over the difference between Saturation and Vibrance in Photoshop. These two settings are very similar, yet give your photo a completely different look depending on what setting you use.
Saturation pumps up all the colors in the photo and can get very dramatic the higher you go.
Vibrance pumps up the colors also – but it is a smarter slider in that it looks at the colors that are already saturated and leaves them alone. It works on all the duller more muted tones in the photo to pump up.
You can think of Vibrance as more of a filler – kind of like fill light in your photography – it selectively fills in the gaps instead of an all over pump up.
