Mixed media abstract art journal spread with bold pink and yellow color palette and expressive marks

Mixed Media Color Play | Create a Beautiful Abstract Page

In this video, I explore color mixing and abstract painting in the Dina Wakley Ledger Journal using a limited palette of Pink Deep, Yellow Deep, black, and white from the Blick Matte Paints line.

On one page, I create a beautiful custom color palette, experimenting with different mixes to find harmonious shades. Then, I bring those colors to life on the opposite page with an expressive abstract painting, using mark-making, stencils, and layering techniques.

Whether you're new to color mixing or looking for inspiration for your next art journal spread, this video will guide you through the process!

Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/

(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)

Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
