Loose and playful abstract watercolor painting with blue and peach tones and layered mark making

Loose & Playful Abstract Painting Process Start to Finish

Join me in the studio as I create a bigger abstract painting inspired by a blue and peach color palette from The Color Cube.

In this mixed media art session, I explore the effects of using a larger paintbrush to create layered concentric circles, adding energy and looseness to the process.

You'll see how switching from my favorite oval wash brush changes the flow of the paint and the final feel of the piece. I finish things off with intuitive mark making to add texture and interest.

If you love abstract painting, color exploration, or are curious about trying new tools in your creative process, this video is for you!

Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/

(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)

Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
