Abstract watercolor and mixed media grid using Masha’s granulating paints, silver ink, and mark making tools

From Doubt to Delight: Abstract Watercolor & Mixed Media Sampler

In this video, I’m working through a tricky color palette pulled from The Color Cube using Masha’s granulating watercolors. At first, I wasn’t sure about the colors—they felt a little outside my comfort zone—but I stuck with it and started layering in mark making using Posca paint markers, Kuretake silver ink, and a few other favorite tools.

I created a grid of small abstract watercolor pieces, playing with texture, pattern, and contrast until a few of them started to click. Come hang out while I share the full process and talk about pushing through the awkward stages of a piece.

Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/

(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)

Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
