Exploring Holbein’s Granulating Colors in a 6-Piece Art Grid

Today I’m diving into a fun color challenge using Holbein’s gorgeous granulating watercolors! I pulled a card from the Color Cube to choose my palette, then created a 6-piece grid painting inspired by the hues.

This process was all about intuitive mark making, letting the colors flow, and finishing with some magical gold touches. If you love color exploration, art prompts, and watching a painting unfold step by step—this one’s for you!

Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplies-for-mixed-media-abstract-art/

(Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!)

Note: I don’t list individual supply links on every post any longer, simply because keeping up with that for each video or project took more time than I have. Instead, I’ve created one easy-to-browse page where I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used art supplies. It’s always up to date, and a great place to find what I’m working with most often.
