I personally love using this technique in my photos because of the dreamy artistic quality it lends itself to. Perfect for creating some extra mood and drama in your photos whether you prefer light or dark photos.
We are going to be using the curve tool in Photoshop for this. I usually go ahead and process my photo the way I usually would by adjusting any settings I need to before I go into the curve panel. Then I would matte the photo at the end of my processing.
