Behind the scenes and edit flowers in the window
I’m doing some more sets from the beautiful flowers I got from Farmgirl flowers .. some Ranunculus and a few roses. In this video, I’m using the Spring/Summer Seasons preset collection and textures from the Arctic Texture collection. I am also using a handheld light in this setup and you can check it out on Amazon.
This is a setup inspired by my new Blooming Flower workshop. If you love some of the ideas I’m using here, you’ll love all the ideas I have for you in the workshop. This advanced flower workshop will really get your creativity flowing!
I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at my setup and the photo I took. I am only using the window light and handheld studio light to bounce some light back into my scene where I would normally have some nice shadows – you could also use a photography reflector for bouncing the light back in. I have all the lights in the room off – so they don’t change or mess up my light in the photos.

These are complete courses for the beginner on how to apply the texture to their photos. Well done. I consider my self a more advanced user and I have been using the same methods to apply my models for the past few years.
I switched to shooting flowers instead of models recently. I hope to learn how you did your creative backdrop. Some suggestion on which workshop I should sign up?
Thank you!
The backdrop was one I created in the beautiful backdrop course. If you are looking for more advanced workshops – you might look at still stories and blooming. 🙂
Thank you for this great video. Curious about what is that orange torch type thing standing on left side?
That is the backside of my handheld light I use sometimes to add light to the photo.
Denise, Thank you so much for sharing the technique to remove the mullion in photoshop. Genius!
So glad it was helpful! Thank you 🙂
When you extend the background, do you use a feather? I get a really harsh line when I try to extend?
I’m not feathering in this one – you can see up top of my photoshop I have feather set to 0.. but I was careful to select an area that was in a lot of blur and pretty even in color so when I extended it – you didn’t see any harsh lines. You just have to do some practicing on that – and it doesn’t always work so seamlessly for me either.
Fabulous edit Denise. Can you please tell me what the Option key is you speak about (is that for Mac)? I use a PC.
Thanks
Yes. It is the option key on mac – I think that is the Alt key on PC
You are so talented and fun to watch.
Thank you!! You’ve really made my day 🙂
