Abstract Watercolor Art Tutorial: Playing with Colors and Mark Making
In this video tutorial, I take you through the process of creating an abstract painting in my large mixed media journal using Ocean Paints watercolors and a vibrant color palette from The Color Cube. I focus on shades of green, blue, and orange to build up the composition, starting with soft washes of watercolor on a textured page. Once the watercolor layer dries, I bring the painting to life by adding expressive mark making with paint markers, adding bold details and contrast. Whether you're into mixed media, abstract art, or just love playing with colors, this tutorial is a fun and creative exercise to inspire your own art!
