A few of my favorite ways to store art supplies
I love collecting art supplies, almost more than I like using them… how weird is that? But it’s kinda true. I love looking at art supplies, and using the supplies as photo props… so I can look at photos of art supplies… LOL!
But, seriously… don’t you love them too?
My favorite way to store the supplies is in vintage containers. Here are some of the things I look for:
- Old wood boxes
- Wood cigar boxes with pretty brass snap
- Vintage toolboxes – these are a personal favorite of mine
- Old glass to use as paintbrush holders and water holders
- Old tin boxes – these can be really fun, they come in so many different sizes, shapes, and colors
I find these at the antique markets mostly and sometimes on Etsy or eBay. I’m always looking around for a piece I cannot live without. I love giving old things new life and repurposing things that might otherwise be considered junk. Check out some of my favorite finds below… and I hope these give you some great ideas of what you might look for when out shopping for interesting art storage options. (You might check out your local craft stores for some great options too… I have found Tin containers at Michaels lately that look vintage with cool old advertisements on them).

I can spend hours in our local art store! Ooh, the color spectrum – LOL! I stop dead in my tracks in the paint department at Lowes and Home Depot. I have 3 paint fan decks. Is it a sickness? LOL Maybe! It’s the artist in me. My best brushes are stored in my green depression glasses. Love! Thanks for the inspiring photos above. I think I need to try this, too.
I love all the colors!! I love looking at the different supplies. I love going to the art store almost as much as the antique store!! 🙂
