Product Information

What do you do once you have bought your Brushes?  You install them into your Photoshop and start playing!!! (Scroll down for Photoshop Elements instructions!!)

****Put the .abr file you’ve downloaded into this folder ->
(WindowsC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Presets\Brushes
(Mac) /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets/Brushes

*** Next open up Photoshop, select the brush tool.   Now Click on the down arrow for the brush selector to see the dialog box below.  Click on the triangle in the upper right corner to get to the menu to load your brushes.

***A list will appear. Click on ‘Load Brushes’

Once the Dialog box pops up – select the brushes you just installed and click Load.

You are now ready to use your brushes!!!  I select the brush I want to use.. size it to the right size for where I am going to put it.. select the color I want to use.. make a new layer to brush on so I don’t ruin the layers under it if I make a mistake.. and then stamp away!

If you are an Elements user:    Here’s the installation path for adding Brushes (.abr files) to Photoshop Elements, all versions

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements (your version)\Presets\Brushes

However, it might be better not to load them at all. Many people keep the brush files in a file on their computer and load the brushes as they need to use them. Loading brushes  keeps Photoshop Elements from being over-loaded  with too much stuff when you open it slowing it down.

To load your brushes, simply open the Brush Picker, click on the right facing triangle at the top to open a the menu, and choose Load Brushes. When the dialog box comes up,find the brushes folder on your hard drive and double click on the brush set you want to load. This will load the brushes and they will stay there until you change brushes.

 Photo sample:

Here is the layer pallet for the photo above.  I added the Artisan collection 8 – texture 5 to the photo 2 times at 100% softlight both times and you can see I used a little masking on the texture to let the flower show though.  Then I added 2 layers with brushes stamped on to get the great edge details.
